Oracle DBA / Database Administrator - Chippenham - £30K-£45K
Oracle DBA / Database Administrator required for a leading software company based from their head office in Chippenham.

The role of an Oracle DBA / Database Administrator will involve supporting the Production , Development and Test Oracle databases , ensuring their performance, availability and security within Oracle 9, 10 and 11. Guaranteeing the availability and performance of all the Oracle systems you will working within a team to make sure that the associated hardware resources are allocated to the databases for optimum performance and high availability. You will be responsible for the improvement and maintenance of the databases, including rollout and upgrades and the implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development team. The role will also include some software programming to fix problems reported by the user community and small changes or enhancements within SQL / PLSQL / Shell programming.

The correct Oracle DBA / Database Administrator will have at least five years of experience within a similar role and have a solid academic background. You will have an in-depth knowledge within Oracle and SQL/PL-SQL whilst having a practical knowledge of relational databases and their uses within a commercial environment. You will have knowledge of both Windows and Linux environment and some knowledge within data warehousing & business intelligence would be highly beneficial but not required along with service management / ITIL knowledge. As you will be working within a team environment then your communication skills, both written and verbal, must be very good.

This role will involve working every weekend and having two days off during the normal working week.
