Company Details - Our client is a service provider, who is delivering a secure global military satellite communications infrastructure. They are providing a range of services, including global mobile voice communications, video conferencing, multimedia-based communications and broadcast communications. Their Services are being used by the UK's armed forces, and are available to government departments and other agencies and organisations that require secure communications.

Job Role - The Engineering Manager is responsible for the customers SDA for the delivery of quality engineering output required to support customer facing functions. The Engineering Manager will ensure that the customer engineering design and practice is conducted and wholly resourced appropriately in the UK office, to the customer's standards. Provide a local SDA function, managing local design reviews etc in line with office needs. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the appropriate management of the UK team with regard to commercial contractual obligations, be the prime European point of contact for technical matters relating to the work, fully accountable for managing the UK engineering team and output within budget, and for completing appropriate commercial processes required to facilitate/support financial revenue. Fully accountable for maintaining records of engineering effort/time in accordance with standard customer practice. Responsible for delivering engineering operations to current best practice within budget constraints. The Engineering Manager will be expected to come into contact with UK MOD, suppliers, customer management and other corporate visitors. Travel to Saudi Arabia will be expected.

Essential Skills - UK Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline. Proven track record in similar role, managing teams and working to tight timescales. Good standard of written and spoken English

Desirable Skills - Business experience in the Defence Sector, experience in delivery of communications services, experience of living or working in the Middle East
