Key Tasks Optical Systems Engineer Tasks

Presentations to customers promoting the Company's capabilities and seeking business opportunities

Review and refinement of customer requirements

Creation of innovative solutions and conceptual designs

Proposal preparation, including costs and schedules

Detailed design using CAD tools and preparation of system and subsystem specifications

Practical system integration and testing

Management of one or more project work packages

Liaise with specialists from other disciplines including electronics, software,
structural, thermal, and mechanical

Liaison with customers

You will need to have a Degree in Engineering or Physics or appropriate vocational qualifications with specialist optical training and/or experience.

Proven experience in the design of optical systems, with a bias towards imaging
systems, incorporating scanners and multi-element detectors in the visible to long-
wave infrared spectral region. Experience in design of Earth Observation from satellites.
