Junior Developer / Graduate Developer (VB.Net) £20k

Our client is a highly successful, rapidly growing family owned shoe retailer focused primarily on quality branded comfort footwear, with Bellissimo offering stylish footwear, with a wide range of up-to-the-minute International catwalk styles at great value prices. Their expanding retail organisation currently has over 900 employees in 95 stores nationwide and with ambitious growth plans this will exceed 120 stores by 2014.

Position: Junior / Graduate .Net Developer VB.Net
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: Up to £20,000

ROLE:
Our client is looking for a Junior Developer / Graduate Developer to join an agile software development team focusing in driving multi-channel retail initiatives and core system enhancements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) The successful candidate will work on varied projects, including innovating integration of new and existing technologies.
b) Build sophisticated merchandising systems.
c) Undertake business analytics and enhance E-commerce platforms.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) A Computer Programming related degree or equivalent.
b) Strong knowledge of web development using VB.NET, Microsoft .NET Framework, Basic ASP.NET, and Visual Studio 2008 / 2010. No commercial experience necessary.
c) Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2012 including database concepts, TSQL Stored Procedures.
d) Knowledge of full software development lifecycle.
e) High standard of verbal and written communication.
f) Good team player.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Web Services and JQuery.
b) Crystal Reports X1, 2008 and JavaScript, XML, and CSS would be beneficial but not necessary.
