PHP Developer - Latest Technology for Cloud-Based Software - Bristol, South West Salary: �30,000 - �38,000 plus full benefits package Location: Bristol, South West (Gloucestershire and�Somerset) THE COMPANY AND SITUATION: A very exciting and one of the fastest-growing providers of an innovative, unique, cloud-based E-commerce software offering are seeking a sociable PHP Developer to join a very friendly multi-skilled Agile development team! EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: The following experience and attributes are essential for this role: A minimum of 3 years of software development experience in PHP version 5 A relevant degree class 2:1 or above (but if you're really good at PHP, we'll let you off with a 2:2!) Some exposure to Java Experience of a unit testing framework RDBMS experience (MySQL is favourite here, but any RBD is fine) SQL experience Linux experience Please note the above criteria are essential - you require all of the above points to be eligible for this role. Desirable, but not essential is experience in any of the following: Integrating with RESTful web services layer Agile (Scrum or XP) Modern web technologies and frameworks such as Zend 1, Spring or jQuery Distributed/grid data layers such as Hazelcast Queuing technologies such as ActiveMQ Integrating with third-parties over API (for example eBay, Amazon, Magento, Shopify) THE OPPORTUNITY: This is one of fastest-growing cloud software companies in Europe, therefore the career potential here is huge, with a culture of promoting from within. For technical staff, the attraction here is the technology they use in-house. Because they are a relatively new and growing company, they are getting to use a lot of the newest and latest software before other companies generally do. Some examples of this are Zend; connectors for eBay, Amazon, Magento and Shopify; Hazelcast with ActiveMQ and RESTful web services. Consequently, there is also still scope to change and mould the way the technology team grows: They are not yet set in their ways as can be the case in other long-established companies. Additionally, this is an opportunity to work with a great bunch of sociable people - this is not your typical tech company!
