ICT Support Engineer HUNTINGDON �21K-�25K The main responsibility of this role is to provide technical support via the ICT Service Desk, ensuring fault calls and requests for help and advice are resolved and actioned within agreed time limits. You will also be responsible to operate and support all software systems running on central server systems and provide flexible assistance in computer software and hardware issues. You will also analyse system and application software faults, using previous technical knowledge gained to collate relevant information and diagnoses to assist in the verification of the fault in order that the necessary action may be taken to maintain the optimum operation of systems to support my clients functions. Suitable candidates will be able to provide 1st and 2nd line support and technical advice on hardware and software issues raised via the ICT Service Desk, drawing on support experience to include complete desktop equipment installations as well as carrying out the repair, installation and relocation of hardware and software, and partake in an on-site emergency callout rota in order that users may be assisted to make the optimum use of their systems. You will also be expected to take an active part in nominated projects by attending project meetings and ensuring the issues relating to my clients database standards and support are covered and accounted for within the project. To produce the documentation that will be required by the ICT Support Team when the project goes live as well as training other members of the team in its use. You will also need to be able to work on small nominated projects initiated by Management and from within the ICT Support Team and train fellow team members in its use or technology. Candidates will be expected to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant hardware and software issues in order to provide advice and support to the Head of Service Delivery. As a suitable candidate you will possess the following: Current driving licence HND/Degree in an ICT related discipline or 3 years experience gained in employment with responsibility for housekeeping and fault-finding on computer systems. Minimum 2 years experience of either MS Windows XP or 7 within a Client Server environment, in a 2nd or 3rd line support role. Minimum 1 years experience of fault-finding and troubleshooting and repairing varied faults at hardware and software level. Experience of either Windows XP or 7 systems administration. Educated at least to Further Education (ie A Levels or NVQ) preferably in a computer related discipline. ITIL foundation certificate in Service Management.
