Linux Systems Administrator – Brighton - £40,000 - £50,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Linux Systems Administrator to join an expanding team for a reputable organisation in Brighton.

My client in central Hastings is recruiting for an experienced IT Engineer, to start ASAP on a fixed-term contract for 3 months, as secondment cover.
Accountabilities:

2 - Work as part of a flexible team in maintaining networks, and associated hardware and software, throughout the organisation, to a high standard of efficiency to ensure minimum amount of ‘down’ time.
3 - Provide 1st & 2nd line technical support via phone, email and face to face.
4 - Logging and completion of job tickets through the organisation's call management system in accordance to agreed service level agreements.
5 - Work with all Engineers to install and implement all network systems, equipment and software including any necessary cabling.
6 - Ensure all networks, including associated hardware and software, are properly and fully documented to ensure continuity of service following breakdown and enable system maintenance and upgrade to take place without significant disruption.
7 - Maintain a database of all PC and MAC systems failures and solutions to assist in the detection and resolution of problems.
8 - Work with the Network Engineer in the detection and solving of problems to enable speedy resolution of any network failure.
9 - Assist the IT Services Manager in the identification on new technologies to inform strategic decisions.
10 - Assist the IT Services Manager and the Procurement Officer to ensure best value when procuring new equipment, supplies and maintenance.
11 - Update the Asset Management System on a regular basis to ensure the effective planning of asset life cycles.
12 - Work with the Network Engineer to gain sufficient knowledge of all systems in order to provide adequate cover to maintain network service during staff absences.
13 - Work with the Network Engineer to ensure the telephony service is available, and setting up phone accounts.

Project and Programme Manager
The main objectives of this role are to:
• Manage larger projects cross-functionally from contract review to FAT/SAT, delivering to time, quality and cost targets;
