To achieve this engineer will be: The Radio Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting fault management to resolution of Radio services incidents. Will provide system/application support to restore service, and may also provide more in depth root cause analysis in relation to radio systems faults. Routine Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities Investigate, analyse and support Incident resolution on radio systems contracts. Provide direction on fault/problem management according to impact within the Incident and Problem Management processes. Examine and identify root cause analysis and provide input to Incident management and Problem Management process where applicable. Interface with 1st line field teams and support services to provide timelines for restoration/delivery and availability of radio services. Provide technical recommendations that assist with service restoration and give consideration to the availability of suitable resources. Assist with technical support of CSIS radio services contracts via a working knowledge of TETRA, PMR, GSM and GPRS technologies on fixed and mobile equipment. Undertake and complete regular manual and automated radio system service checks. Escalate customer Incidents in line with internal procedures in order to assist with service resolution within SLA's where required. Document and update radio services Incident investigations within CSIS Service Management system, RMS. Initiate Requests for Change related to radio services in line with internal procedures. Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members as appropriate. Contribute to the Knowledge Base and Known Error Database. Participate in Major Incident Reviews where radio services technical support was required to support system restoration. Provide fault fix support on radio terminals, base station equipment and control room positions for incidents via 1st line, remotely or on site where required. The engineer will be responsible for 2nd Line support activities including customer contact, Incident handling and Radio Services out of Hours On-Call support. Essential Experience/Skills: Radio Systems support experience. Experience in 1st or 2nd line radio support activities covering system installation, commissioning, support and maintenance. Technical understanding of TETRA, PMR, GSM and GPRS. Understanding of RF principles and radio systems support. Desired Experience/Skills: IT Knowledge in Windows/Linux operating systems. This is the market leading system in the Police, Fire and Ambulance services and provides control room users with a single touch screen interface to control telephony, analogue and digital radio, recording, CCTV and other control room equipment. Their team consists of 20 software development and database engineers. The role will be to assist in the design, implementation and support of new functions for the DSx000 products including the user interface. Although this is primarily a development role there will be a requirement to support other developers, test, support and implementation engineers. Different components of the application are written in C, C++ and C#, on a windows based platform.
