You will be a bright, enthusiastic, creative, applied hands-on engineer with both an aptitude and interest in commercial development. You will have experience of commercial project development and will be expected to rapidly make significant contributions to technically challenging and commercially demanding projects, creating, analysing and developing new technologies, contributing to and taking a technical leadership role and integrating with a talented multi-disciplinary team.
Essential skills:
• A 1st or 2.1 (Hons) degree in Electronics or Mechatronics from a top university.
• 3 A Levels (or equivalent) at A or B grade.

• Troubleshoot / Install Linux Server Operating systems
• Understand / Participate in regular OS Patching Cycles & Server Hardening /
Maintenance:
• Understand Network Cabling & basic configuration of switches
• Demonstrate experience with performance measurement
• Demonstrate experience with RAID based storage (NAS, DAS) & SAN technologies
• Microsoft SQL Server knowledge (SQL 2005/2008)
• Familiarity with IIS / Apache
• Familiarity with Security Best Practices
• Scripting ability a plus (vbscript, PowerShell) a plus
• Rack and un-rack Servers (ability to lift 25 KG)

This fabless Semiconductor company seek a Senior Systems Engineer, with a strong Power electronics/SMPS/PSU background. This company produce large amounts of mixed signal ICs for Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) for chargers and adaptors and operate within a high volume, cost sensitive consumer market.
You will be responsible for:
- Analysis of end application requirements provided by Sales and Marketing teams by direct interaction with customers in the APAC region.
- Participating in customer meetings, answering technical questions, helping to present products and delivering on competitive advantages offered by these products.
- Being the go to expert in Power Electronics - helping the FAE/Sales and Marketing teams with customer design problems
- Conceptual design/development and modelling of IC based solutions
- Taking a lead stance in development and optimisation of application design prototypes as well as algorithms.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will some or most of the following:
- A broad and deep understanding of Power Electronics and offline power conversion
- Control Theory / Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS)
- Converter Topologies including flyback, forward, SEPIC and half bridge
- Power Factor Correction (PFC)
- EMC theory, design practice, standards and methods
- Safety and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA)
