A very exciting and one of the fastest-growing providers of an innovative, unique, cloud-based e-commerce software offering are seeking a sociable PHP Developer to join a very friendly multi-skilled Agile development team!


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The following experience and attributes are essential for this role:

• A minimum of 3 years of software development experience in PHP version 5
• A relevant degree class 2:1 or above (but if you’re really good at PHP, we’ll let you off with a 2:2!)
• Some exposure to Java
• Experience of a unit testing framework
• RDBMS experience (MySql is favourite here, but any RBD is fine)
• SQL experience
• Linux experience

Please note the above criteria are essential – you require all of the above points to be eligible for this role.

Desirable, but not essential is experience in any of the following:

• Integrating with RESTful web services layer
• Agile (Scrum or XP)
• Modern web technologies and frameworks such as Zend 1, Spring or jQuery
• Distributed/grid data layers such as Hazelcast
• Queuing technologies such as ActiveMQ
• Integrating with third-parties over API (for example eBay, Amazon, Magento, Shopify)

Our client is looking for a passionate, world-class Software Engineer to work in its Developer Technology Team. In this role, you will open up new domains of application for GPUs by researching and developing GPU computing algorithms, driving their adoption with key application developers and ensuring best possible performance of GPU computing applications on current and next-generation architectures.

Application domains include geosciences, life sciences, computer-aided engineering, computational fluid dynamics, computational chemistry, computational physics, computational finance, electronic design automation, data mining, medical imaging, and many more.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work directly with key UK developers on their scientific applications, educating them on the latest technologies.
- Closely collaborate with the architecture and software teams at to influence the design of next-generation architectures.
- Some travel to conferences and for on-site visits with developers will be required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A good degree from a leading university in an engineering or computer science related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Fortran and C/C++.
- Strong knowledge of programming techniques and algorithms.
- Strong mathematical fundamentals, including linear algebra and numerical methods.
- Experience with parallel programming, especially data-parallel using MPI, OpenMP, OpenACC or CUDA C/C++/Fortran.
