- embedded software development experience
- debugging embedded software
- experience of development in 'C' for embedded processors
- scripting languages such as Perl, Python

Our client is seeking an experienced Digital ASIC Design Engineer to join them developing the very latest in high performance, low power Graphics cores for the consumer market. The successful Digital ASIC Designer will join our client’s newly established IC development centre in central Bristol and cover RTL design, verification, synthesis, and power performance analysis whilst steering the RTL team and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements:
• Degree or equivalent in Electronic or Electrical Engineering
• An established background in ASIC/FPGA design, with an ability to ability to turn architecture into real hardware
• Strong knowledge of high speed and low power design
• VHDL or Verilog RTL coding expertise
• Prior experience working in the video / graphics domain would be a plus, but not essential
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to lead and motivate the team

Junior Digital Verification Engineer – Bristol, UK

An exciting opportunity has become available in Bristol for an ambitious Junior Digital Verification Engineer within an innovative young start-up company, specialising in low cost 60GHz WiGig technology. Their unique mix of highly skilled teams makes them one of only a few groundbreaking companies able to succeed in developing these products.

Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for the specification, design and implementation of IP blocks for digital signal processing applications. Your duties will include creation of requirements specifications, modelling systems in Matlab/Octave and C++, digital design and verification using my client's proprietary technology and digital design and verification using Verilog.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant electronics subject and;

• Experience of digital design / verification using Verilog, systemVerilog or VHDL
• Experience / understanding of software systems design tools and languages
• Experience of RTL/High Level Synthesis and Timing constraints generation
• A good understanding of wireless technology, DSP design, C++/System C modelling and virtual prototyping
