Core Software Verification Engineer (Validation / 3GPP / 2G,3G,LTE / GSM)
I am currently recruiting for world-class Modem Software Engineering team in Cambridge and we are looking for a Validation Engineer to join our core software validation group. As a Core Software Validation Engineer, you will join a team of test engineers whose role is the validation of complete modem platforms, from 2G/3G/HSDPA/HSUPA/HSPA+ to LTE.
Key responsibilities of a Core Software Verification Engineer are;
-The verification, testing and debugging of the features, (including new features), developed for the protocol stack
-Execution of test cases to verify the protocol stack against various test platforms
-Perform initial analysis of failures and raise defect reports with needed information to development teams
-Perform regular (daily/weekly) non-regression protocol and RF GCF/PTCRB and operator testing (2G/3G/LTE) on specific SW branches
-Report testing and debug status to management in a clear and logical fashion
-Maintenance of testing equipment (includes HW/SW upgrades, and maintenance of test plans according to wireless products capabilities)

Team Description & Purpose of Role The Product and Solutions team in Our Client are responsible for driving the product strategy, managing the Profit and Loss for the product line (including setting pricing) and helping sales to close business. Good technical understanding of fundamental principles of digital technology and communications theory and its practical applications; in particular with regard to system security. Experience of firmware development (e.g. VHDL) and communication protocols is desirable. Experience should include:

Job Responsibilities
• Full ownership of the Customer’s network architecture;

Experience Required • Strong MPLS/IP design experience in System Integrator/network provider and/or large enterprise environment.
• Experience of Network Operations
• A demonstrable understanding of all/some of the following: -
• MPLS VPNs, QoS, Ethernet (VPLS), IT Applications in WAN environments, Routing/Switching technologies, WAN optimization technologies
• Security - Firewalls, VPN concentrators, IPsec & SSL VPN, IDS/IPS, DDOS protection, Email & Content filtering
• Knowledge of VoIP/IPT an advantage
• Knowledge of Hosting/CDN services an advantage
