Senior FPGA Design Engineer - Video
The Senior FPGA Design Engineer will be based in Bristol and have a fantastic opportunity to be involved in industry leading video processing technology for video, TV and the film industry.
Responsibilities will include FPGA Design with VHDL or Verilog with a focus on high speed Technologies for Video, including MPEG, HDTV, DVD/DVB, PAL, CCD Imaging, Mobile (GSM/CDMA), USB, Ethernet, PCI and Memeory.
The successful Senior FPGA Design Engineer will have a good relevant Degree, with a proven background and interest in FPGA Design, preferably for Video Technology. Other skills of interest include VHDL, Verilog, RTL, C/C++ and DSP.

I am looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be based in the South East for a leading semiconductor client. This position will be focused on the design and implementation of large scale industrial equipment, ideally you will have a minimum of approx. 5+ yrs of experience moving forward.
This person will have advanced 3D CAD skills using Pro Engineer, ideally using Creo, however Wildfire experience would also be of significant interest. Some thermal design experience, particularly with the cooling of large scale electronics would be a huge advantage in this instance.

Responsibilities:
* Leading and developing the Communications Industrial Systems Capability to ensure it is capable of meeting growing client needs.
* Secure work, through existing relationships, or working with others to support bidding activity into new business opportunities.
* Cultivation of strong client relationships through technical excellence and strong capability leadership.
* Supporting project managers in design & implementation of technical solutions
* Assuring technical delivery and ensuring quality throughout the project lifecycle.
* Mentor and develop staff
* Enhance and develop the company reputation in Industrial Systems
* Ensure successful delivery of projects, within multidisciplinary programmes & projects.
* Selection and adoption of appropriate standards
Requirements:
Essential:
* Previous experience of successful design & delivery of control & automation systems across multiple sectors, project values >£250k.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at various levels within an organisation, build strong client relationships, lead client conversations and engage on a technical level.
* Commercially aware, experienced in developing costed technical proposals, identifying key risks
* Sound industrial controls knowledge, ideally from instrument through to ERP connectivity.
* Experience of technical document production throughout the project lifecycle
* Occasional temporary requirements to work away from home, both in the UK and overseas as project/client requirements dictate.
* Capable of working as a technical consultant on client sites to define project scope
* Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
Desirable:
* Knowledge of mechanical & electro-mechanical systems in an industrial setting
* Degree qualified with an electrical/electronic/computing/controls bias.
* An understanding of electrical standards
Personal Qualities:
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* Pragmatic, approachable, problem solver
* Comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a technical setting
* Ability to be flexible and to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.

New position available for a LEAD IC LAYOUT ENGINEER with a leading supplier of high-quality analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products in some of the fastest growing markets in the industry. Due to continued growth and success we are looking for a Lead IC Layout Engineer to work on their next generation of high-performance optical transport equipment (SerDes).
This position is commutable from Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Cardiff and Newport and is paying up to £55k + excellent benefits and possibly the best bonuses in the industry for the right candidate. Competitive relocation assistance is also available.
The ideal Lead IC Layout Engineer will have extensive experience of the layout and verification of analogue/mixed signal IC products with Cadence Virtuoso tools eg XL, DIVA, PVS, ASSURA, and Mentor Calibre.
The successful Lead IC Layout Engineer will be responsible for floor planning, block level layout, importing digital layouts into analogue blocks, top level integration and pad ring layout of RF/high speed blocks. You will also lead the IC layout function and supervise junior layout staff and off-site layout resources and carry out tape out verification tasks such as drc, lvs, metal fill etc and liaise with foundry to ensure tape in.
