Controls Engineer
A structured approach is required in developing plc based control systems, utilising appropriate methods and following relevant European and international standards. You will be determining best solutions to technical issues, and planning activities.

A key aspect of the role is the creation of documentation to support the manufacturing process, you will therefore also be proficient in MS Word and Excel.
In addition experience of Microsoft Visual Studio (VB.net or C#) would be an advantage.

DevOps Engineer
You’d be responsible for deploying, monitoring and tuning our web-application on customer servers – currently 40 servers over 14 sites with an expectation that this will increase significantly in the next 18 months. At the moment this task is performed by a member of the development team and we are now reaching a scale where we need somebody dedicated to the task. You’d be responsible for scheduling and deploying builds to staging and production environments, “owning” the the release management processes and working with our developers to troubleshoot performance / reliability problems as they arise.

You understand how to administer SQL Server and use the performance profiling tools. You know how to interpret a query plan.
You can troubleshoot IIS and understand how it interacts with ASP.NET.
You know how to use Windows performance counters to diagnose problems.

You appreciate the relationships between people and task automation.
It’s a bonus if:
You know how to use DebugDiag and interpret the output.
You know Powershell.

We are searching for a Software Test Engineer to test and debug software for wireless chips. This may be either embedded software running on the on-chip processors or associated software running on a host processor.
The candidate will take ownership of the software testing of a major aspect of a project and will be responsible for delivering the software test results on a timescale agreed with the group leader. Mentoring will provided from more experienced engineers. Tasks will be defined and the engineer is expected to work with moderate supervision.
In this role the candidate is expected to take significant ownership for WLAN PHY and Radio Control software including system level feature integration, debug and test. The candidate is expected to develop test strategies and test plans, troubleshoot/analyze problems and optimize system performance. The role may require understanding of the software/firmware design and implementation and, if needed, make contributions on development and debug.
The role will include but not be limited to:
Task definition and work breakdown including time estimation
Development of software test systems of major scale and complexity to agreed timescales;
Investigates software defects and suggest root cause to development engineers;
Delivery of high quality software test results in line with the department’s processes;
Creation of relevant documentation following the department’s processes;
Contribute towards the continuous development of the department’s processes;
We are searching for a Software Test Engineer with the following profile:
Good and relevant academic background
Excellent proven experience of at least one scripting/programming language
Understanding of software test methodologies
Good understanding of Signal Processing and Communications
Understanding of PHY and DSP Firmware
Experience of testing commercial software
Good understanding of software test debug techniques
Air interface performance analysis, characterization, and optimization
Handling LAB Equipment and Real time Debug and Verification
Good communicator
Some experience of software development will be a plus
