3rd Line Support Engineer (MCSE/MCITP) – Basingstoke –NEW!!

The Company:
Focus IT have the pleasure of working with this WELL established IT Solutions Company. My client offers Managed services solutions to SME/ Medium sector right up to blue chip clients.

The Role:
Due to company expansion and new business growth we are now looking for another IT Support Engineer to compliment the existing dynamic team. The role will give you full life cycle to my clients IT business solution. Predominantly providing 3rd Line Support duties. All support must be performed with minimal business impact on the customer and within agreed service levels.

The role will require you to work on various Microsoft platforms and windows Servers. Responsibilities will involve performing on-site client visits and remote office support to resolve technical incident along with standard duties such as PC Break/Fix and basic diagnostics of network protocols. You will be able to work under pressure and be able to handle multiple issues within different client IT infrastructures.

Key Skills:
3rd line Support

Exchange Server
VM Ware or Hyper-V
Either one of the following qualifications: MCSE/MCITP/CCNA/VCP
Knowledge of SQL Server
Terminal Services (RDP)


The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will come from an outsourced or IT service background, with impeccable customer service skills. You will be proficient in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange, Terminal Server, Microsoft XP, Microsoft Vista and Microsoft Office 2003/ 2007 along Active Directory.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Support Engineer with good knowledge of Windows servers and exposure to Lotus notes. Please note this is a permanent opportunity where you will be based at my client’s customer site in regent’s park, north London with occasional travel to Cambridge and possibly Basingstoke.

This role is a 3rd Line Technical Support Engineer and can also be known as a Support Analyst, Helpdesk Analyst, 2nd Line Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Technical Engineer, IT Support Engineer and Helpdesk Engineer.

The Location:
The role is based in Basingstoke, Hampshire and is commutable from Reading, Slough, Farham, Surrey, Guildford, Southampton and South London.

A UK defence company has a new requirement for an Electronic Test Engineer for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. Ideal candidates will be experienced with fault-finding to component level on RF and Digital products.

Candidates will be required to control production Special Test Equipment, de-bug to component level complicated Digital and RF CCA's using specialist test equipment. As well as supporting the production test department candidates will be performing various duties associated with assembly and test of highly complex assemblies.

Suitable candidates will need to have a strong test background and will need to be able to fault find to component level. They will also need to have a comprehensive knowledge of electronic products including some mechanical understanding.

Because of the nature of the work it is essential that candidates are British National.

Responsibilities

* Conducting quality audits including audits of hardware and software engineering processes.
* Conduct pre-release QA checks on production output, report on findings and work with OPS to implement corrective action.
* Maintain and act on Metrics for QA related activities.
* Support continual update and improvements of the QMS to include for example supply chain management processes, and operations metrics.
* Investigation and resolution of supplier related problems, quality/process improvements.
* QA of engineering development activities including:
* Assuring effective implementation of engineering development processes throughout the life cycle on a variety of projects.
* Agreement of test specs/plans/witnessing and approving proving tests
* Review and approval of engineering changes and associated issues.


Requirements

* Proven experience in high technology engineering environment in development or manufacturing.
* Experience of working in Quality Assurance is an advantage.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001 Plus TickIT requirements and their practical implementation is an advantage.
* The successful candidate will be able to conduct scheduled tasks to agreed timescales and standards ranging from routine to challenging.
